Garden Visits

Since our inception when we met at each other’s homes and gardens and pondered matters horticultural over a cup of coffee, we have now developed into a garden visits group.  We have braved the rain on more than one occasion to visit some lovely gardens in and around Dorset including Cranborne Manor Garden, Minterne and Compton Acres.  A highlight was a guided tour of Knoll Gardens by its owner, Neil Lucas, who is an absolute mine of information when it comes to grasses and how to use them in the borders of our more suburban gardens.

We have also travelled further afield to Mottisfont Abbey to see the beautiful rose garden, Savill Gardens nr Windsor and RHS Garden Wisley which was an inspiration and will no doubt be the venue for more visits in the future.

We meet on the third Thursday of each month from April to September inclusive and aim to visit a mix of gardens mainly within easy striking distance of Blandford, but with at least one visit by coach.  Details of the programme for our summer of visits will be in the Spring Newsletter.
